FAQIR CHAND KOHLI(Co-Founder & the first CEO of TCS Tata Consultancy Services)

F.C. Kohli (Faqir Chand Kohli) (March 19, 1924 – November 26, 2020) was a co-founder and the first CEO of one of India's largest software services companies, TCS (Tata Consultancy Services). He was also associated with other companies such as Tata Power Company and Tata Elxsi, and had also been President of Indian Information Technology (IT) Services Advocacy Body NASSCOM He is referred to as& quot; Father of Indian IT Industry & quot; He has received numerous awards, including: 1) Dadabhai Naoroji Memorial Award, 2000; 2) Lifetime Achievement Award, The Economic Times, 2002; and 3) Kohli Center on Intelligent Systems (KCIS), at IIIT Hyderabad, 2015.Lifetime Achievement Award, All India Management Association (AIMA), 2017; and he was also awarded Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honor, for his contribution to the Indian software industry.

     He completed his MS at MIT and trained in power system operations at Ebasco. International Corporation, New York, Connecticut Valley Power Exchange, Hartford, and New England Power Systems, Boston He became a general superintendent in 1963 and a deputy general manager in 1967. In 1969, he also helped set up Tata Consultancy Services at the request of J. R.D. Tata Kohli was married to his wife Swarm, a consumer-rights activist and lawyer, and had three children: children. He also authored a book named "The IT Revolution in India" in 2012.
