John McCarthy was a computer and cognitive scientist from the United States. He is also known as the inventor of artificial intelligence discipline. He co-wrote the document that introduced the term "artificial intelligence," which is also referred to as AI. He also invented garbage collection, popularized time-sharing, and created the LISP family of programming languages. He also had a significant impact on the design of ALGOL.

Stanford University was where John McCarthy spent the majority of his career and life. For his work, he received numerous awards and honors. such as the Turning Award in 1971, the National Medal of Science from the United States, and the Kyoto Prize for his work on AI 

.Life and education of McCarthy McCarthy was born on September 4, 1927, in Boston, Massachusetts. His father is Irish, and his mother is Lithuanian Jewish. McCarthy's philosophy of AI In 1979, McCarthy published an article titled "Ascribing Mental Qualities to Machines." "Machines as simple as thermostats and trustworthy," he wrote in it. In his famous Chinese Room Argument, philosopher John Searle disagreed with McCarthy and asserted that machines are not conscious and cannot be trusted in 1980
