YOSHUA BENGIO (Scientific Director of the Montreal Institute for Learning Algorithms (MILA) Canadian computer scientist Yoshua Bengio, OC, FRS, FRSC (born March 5, 1964), is best known for his work on deep learning and artificial neural networks. He is the scientific director of the Montreal Institute for Learning Algorithms (MILA) and a professor at the University of Montréal's Department of Computer Science and Operations Research. Bengio was born in France to a Jewish family that had first come to Canada from Morocco and then to France. From McGill University, he earned his B.Sc. in electrical engineering, MEng in computer science, and PhD in computer science. Samy has a brother named Bengio. Bengio, a former Google scientist .
